Coco Spa, Westport, A Little Gem of a Place for Massage and Facials!
On Friday, I had sort of reached my pinnacle and was about to become unhinged. I needed something to make me feel like I was on vacation. I was thinking, I need some sort of spiritual and physical intervention. Was it reiki that I needed? I figured out that massage was the only way for me to fully relax and feel differently physically, spiritually and mentally, at least for this day. After work, and a recommendation from a professional masseuse, I drove over to COCO Spa in Westport for my massage. I didn’t know what to expect because I never knew it existed and was pleasantly surprised by it’s size, and the caring and professional staff. As you enter the spa, to the left is a large circular area where people are manicured and pedicured, and to the right, through the door are a number of massage and facial rooms that sort of mimic the quality of Noelle Day Spa. Meaning clean, spacious, nicely painted, well appointed, peaceful- and professional.
I got a great massage from Eunice who didn’t talk too much, but engaged me in an appropriate manner while loosening up my muscles. She instituted a mixture of deep tissue and swedish massage, along with hot stones, which is exactly what I required. As I lay there, I asked if there is anyway I could get a facial as well. I haven’t had one in about a year and a half. Although, I didn’t understand her response due to a language barrier, I found myself not expecting one, thought my request was too last minute, but after my massage she led me to another room with another woman to do my facial. I was thrilled!
The facial was excellent, although painful. Facials are sort of like dental cleanings, you wonder if you were remiss all this time, not cleansing properly, but at the end, your skin radiates and the particular facial I chose was of the tightening variety, infusing collagen, and also mixed with a deep cleaning. I figured I ought to really go all the way since it had been far too long. I took the liberty to research what sort of a machine she used, but it resembled an ultrasound machine with a warm feeling, and found that the results are reported as such:
Face lifting and skin tightening
-Body shaping
-Face and neck wrinkle eliminating
-Removing acne and dark circle around eyes
-Improving skin-metabolism
-Diminishing inflammation
I wonder if she ever used that one on body parts? Probably not, just for facials I would imagine. Wouldn’t it be great to have one of these machines at home? However, they cost in the range of about $3-$4K. I just found a home use one for $1K http://www.wrinklesreducer.com/radio_frequency_treatment in case any of you are in the market for one! Seems like a great investment! Especially if you are interested in maintaining your skin’s appearance.
I had a good conversation with her about skincare, and her skin was immaculate due to her giving herself weekly facials. She was perfection. I love that Asian women really care for their skin. It is almost religion for these women. I felt like I needed to hear what she had to say and hopefully absorb it through mental osmosis- you know, the importance of going the extra mile for great skin! She assured me that my skin was better than average, but that it required much more care. 3 Days later, my skin still feels tight and clean. She mentioned that the particular results that resulted from the treatment that I underwent will last up to 4 weeks. I will let you all know. In the meantime, if you want improved facial tightness, smaller pores, and overall even color, I recommend you visit COCO Spa, but realize that it is a timely procedure and relax with it.

Microdermabrasion has advanced from rocks, stones and shells to crystals, particle-free diamond tips and particle-free bristle guidelines. The popular, favored technique of mechanical exfoliation is particle-free more than crystals.
