Got FRIZZY, UNRULY, DAMAGED WAVY HAIR? YOU and I need OUIDAD!

logo_90417

For the longest time I have been telling my friends that IF I ever went camping with a guy and took a dip in the lake, and didn’t have access to a blow dryer the guy would run for the hills once my hair “air dried”!! My unblown hair looks like a cross between bozo the clown and Rosanna Dana from SNL, back in the day! I swear to you, I could never let my hair air dry! I woke up at 3 am Saturday and saw this product infomercial for CURL CONFIDENCE! I couldn’t believe it, all the women on there had the same problems I did with my hair, If I didn’t blow dry it it basically looks AWFUL ! I knew I had some curls and waves underneath the frizz but I didn’t know how to make them happen and look decent, or get that effortless beach tousled hair we all want and love!

MY NEW WAVES! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU OUIDAD!

MY NEW WAVES! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU OUIDAD!

I finally got it! I didn’t order off the infomercial because I had an Ouidad salon right down the street and opted to get product IN HAND immediately and paid $10 more for no shipping and immediate results! I wore my new curly hair on Saturday for the first time.. or more wavy, but since  I always blow it out, it felt majorly curly and I was a little weary.. but the reviews were stellar!

My friends who saw me LOVED it and so did I! I am happy to not have to blow out my highlighted hair every time I wash it now and I love being able to change it up! So happy I got these two products!

They are:

Prada… Infusion D’Iris Hydrating Body Lotion has a Deliciously Clean Scent …

$52, Macy's, Saks, Neiman's, Zappos

Thanks to Catherine Paret, I was introduced to this marvelous (hee hee hee) product! She stopped by last night and surprised me with this wonderful gift, and I immediately opened it, and put it on my arms and hands to try it out.  The scent remained intact, but wasn’t over bearing!  The lotion has a silky consistency and it glides on and goes a long way.  It sort of has that whole foods organic-y iris, floral smell, if that makes sense. I love it! Thanks Catherine!!

This is the actual product description which to my surprise uses the word “silky” as I did. I didn’t read it before I wrote!

As elusive and unique as the precious ingredient from which it takes its name, INFUSION D’ IRIS fuses tradition with idealism, heritage moulded to modernity, classicism reinterpreted through originality.

INFUSION D’ IRIS is like a dream, an Italian voyage, an ambiance, the smell of soap, the clean scent of crisp linen sheets, and naked skin. It combines classic, exceptional quality ingredients from Italy such as the Iris Pallida from Florence and the warm top note glow of Sicilian mandarin. It expresses itself through its contrast between a great freshness and apparent lightness and a type of tender veil, sensual, and strong, that envelops the body and the clothing of the woman who wears the fragrance.

INFUSION D’ IRIS evokes an ultra feminine experience set within a world of luxury and Possibility—quintessential Prada universe.

A delicately scented body lotion specifically formulated to hydrate, protect, and improve the skin’s elasticity while giving it a silky finish—leaving the skin smooth while giving it radiance.

• Avocado oil, shea butter, and vitamin E moisturize and protect the skin.
• Vitamin B5 smoothes and gives luminosity to the skin.
• Soy firms and protects the skin.
• Vitamin C regenerates the skin.
• A rich and creamy formula that is absorbed easily, leaving a protective layer on the skin’s surface and a soft velvety touch.

$7 bucks and change.. for LONG great looking lashes!

If you have naturally long eye lashes and just want them to be noticeably LONG and separated, this is the best mascara out there! Swear to God… I have used them all and find that this one is the best! Next time you are out at your local CVS, pick up a tube, you won’t be sorry. I have put down all others for this one. It is no nonsense, good plastic brush, and no clumping… Nothing else to say except FREAKING GREAT!

Adult Acne Sucks!.. Murad Offers a Kit that Works after only 1 Application!

Murad - Acne Complex Kit (4 Weeks Supply) only $23.99 at Amazon!

Murad - Acne Complex Kit (4 Weeks Supply) only $23.99 at Amazon!

I never had acne in my life, but hormonal changes must be contributing to the issue and rather than go to the dermatologist, I thought to search online for a product.  I also saw this What I hate About Me show and the woman on the show mentioned her back acne as something that really bothered her and the producers paid for her to go see Dr. Murad himself!  He applied this glycolic acid on her back and then this vitamin C serum.  After only one application, this woman’s scars and acne appeared much less visible.  She was black and therefore had a lot of scarring which caused her discomfort.

After seeing Dr. Murad in action on television, I looked him up online and ordered this little trial  acne kit.  I used it for the first time yesterday and when I woke up today, it was 50% healed! I wish I paid only $23.99. I went right to the Murad site!  Let this be a lesson to you, always check Amazon.com and Ebay.com  for EVERYTHING!!

I highly recommend this product! Link to Amazon:  http://bit.ly/bFQ1n8

For Real… better than Aveeno, and better than Eucerin… Neutrogena’s Moisture Wrap Body Cream is Divine…

only $7.49

After seeing the commercial with Jennifer Garner all fake tanned, made up and moisturized, I fell prey to the product pitch for a moisturizing cream which promised to change the appearance and the feel of my skin after only just one use!  Not even having finished my other product, I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond to apprehend this miracle cream, Moisture Wrap!  LET ME BE THE FIRST TO TELL YOU.. IT WORKS PEOPLE!  It really works! I covet this product and admonish my allegiance to any other body lotion going forward…

Go to the Neutrogena Site here to learn more: http://bit.ly/bOHtuU

It does feel amazing.. no more awareness of a dry patch, an occasional itch from dry skin, NOTHING!  It feels so amazingly soft and hydrating.. I have nothing else to say but get in your tin can automobile and go get yourself some beautiful skin in a tube and rock on!

Dr. Oz’s Ultimate Top 20–Mehmet Oz “best”??? cable TV moments. I don’t think so!!

I dvr’d this show from the Discovery Health Channel and I was watching it this am as I was getting ready to leave for work.  It featured a lot of obesity and focused on health, dietary suggestions, and featured some unsightly organs, via OZ STYLE.  I typically enjoy everything he has to share, but a couple moments in the show made me a little mad.  For one, they put this woman in a window in Manhattan and asked passerbys to comment on her appearance.  Apparently, this was supposed to propel her into action and instill in her a desire to better herself.

The comments were superficial and many of them included critiques on the condition of her skin!  I heard comments like: she has bags under her eyes, lines on her face, splotchy skin, on and on… I am a middle aged woman and know that most women do not have skin like I do and it’s not because they have a bad diet and don’t exercise! I can also get bags under my eyes! Who can’t?? I take a very aggressive approach to my appearance, you can surmise what you will.. but most people don’t and that doesn’t mean they should be judged so harshly because of the natural effects of father time.  While I understand that eating right combined with exercise will slow down the aging process.. it isn’t the only factor! Genetics have a lot to do with how you age, if you stay out of the sun, amount of stress, etc.. My point being that there are so many OTHER factors that determine our appearance.  Shame on you DR. OZ for taping for television such  comments! and more so SHAME ON YOU for stating yourself after the window incident– “People judge eachother every day, they walk by and think these things!”

Seriously, WHO THE FUCK CARES DR. OZ what any body else thinks!? That is what is wrong with our society! To keep pounding that message home is ludicrous and downright irresponsible!  I care for my skin FOR ME! I want to like what I see when I look in the mirror. It isn’t for others.  Aren’t we more than our respective outer looks?  MOST PEOPLE are average looking at best.. MOST PEOPLE don’t take aggressive measures to care for their skin and exist on this planet just fine… for someone like DR. OZ to make such a statement in order to precipate change in others is astoundingly short sited.

People for the most part are ordinary, average, heavy set, and don’t prioritize trying to look glamorous.  They can’t, they won’t, and most of them don’t care!  The human race is mostly comprised of people just being people.. and not being overly concerned with  trying to keep up with the Jones’ and there is nothing wrong with that… they can be perfectly happy.

Dr. Oz, don’t put people in store windows to make your point…stick to what you know. ORGANS and scientific studies and please let them know that it doesn’t matter what any one else thinks about their appearance.. it only matters what they think! Think about it… how many times have you gotten advice from someone about how your hair should be cut, colored, or how you should dress, etc… when you know inside, you  have your own style.  I am NOT SAYING that I have never changed a man’s clothing or hair.. BUT they had to be willing to accept the change and LIKE it… They had to like it.. they didn’t do it just for me.

BLISS.. Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask.. another skin pick me up….

I was relatively lazy with my skin care most of my life… I moisturized, cleansed, didn’t do much more.  I was never the woman to go get a regular facial and do masks at home much at all.  Maybe once a year I might have done a mask.  Now, for whatever reason, I am into it and discovered this Bliss mask yesterday while at a friend’s house.  This is a unique mask in that you put it on as a pink jell and then it becomes frothy on it’s own, performing its own miracle of improving tone, texture and appearance.  After 5 minutes you rinse off with warm water and your skin looks and feels so smooth.  I am a believer in this mask and will make it a part of my routine skin care. thrice weekly. I recommend it.. It is a great product if you don’t feel like wearing any makeup, but you need to go out in public.. because it really makes your skin glow!

and um… MAD MEN is SO GOOD… If you haven’t seen it, rent it from Netflix!

Bliss Mask Click this Link.. This product isn’t cheap… $52.. but it definitely works!

Glycolic Elite Facial Cleanser with AHA, a Miracle Worker!

I went to Dr. Savitz  (pictured here in the center, the man) of Long Ridge Dermatology (Stamford)  fame, due to the suggestion of my friend Pamela.  I was unhappy with the tone, texture, color and pores of my face.  Apparently, Dr. Savitz is THE GO TO DOCTOR in the Fairfield County area for people “in the know.”

Dr. Savitz

Dr. Savitz is kind, patient, knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to putting your best face forward in the SKIN DEPARTMENT!  He recommended their Glycolic Facial Cleanser, not because THEY put their name on it, but after looking at my skin, he instinctively knew that my cleansing routine was not optimal.  I was using an all natural cleansing milk, which he said does NOTHING in terms of improvement of overall appearance.only

This cleanser has made my face so smooth, pores super tiny, and it is a gentle exfoliator, which we need to keep our skin looking fresh, enlivened and even toned!  He wasn’t kidding when he told me to only use a tiny bit as a little goes a long way.  He also mentioned to “let the cleanser do the work, ” meaning foam it up, rub it a bit, let it sit for about 10 seconds and rinse clear with warm water.  The gentle acting hydrolic acid and citric acid does all the work! Ladies, you cannot simply use a lotion or creamy face cleanser, IF you do, you will not achieve lasting skin tone, and clarification results! You won’t get the anti aging benefits and natural exfoliation you need.  Don’t be afraid of a little natural acid and glycolic because believe me, IT HAS MADE A HUGE DIFFERNCE in the polish, cleansing, and toning of my skin, BIG TIME!  It is NOT DRYING.. since I have combination skin, I am always worried about being DRY… incidentally, as I was leaving my appointment, I saw a very discriminating neighbor of mine waiting as he said, for “doctor S”…. because he is the best!

Set a Goal and Meet It.. Head On…

This is my very first Video Blog.. I didn’t want to over think, over plan, and over prepare… I thought to jump in, do it, get it done, since I told about 6 people I was going to start video blogging.. I HAD TO DO IT… I don’t prefer to be thought of as “hot air.”  I am a doer, and that is how I live, breathe and operate. While it isn’t perfect, it was fun, challenging to step outside my comfort zone and go it alone.  I hope you enjoy it… I will improve with practice and hope to entertain, inform, and impart wisely, responsibly… responsibly within my world of reasoning, which can be drastically different than the norm… my gift to you is direct, without pretense… me..
