Eliminating Xenoestrogens – Success!
If you have read at all about my research regarding xenoestrogens, I am happy to report that now 3 weeks into it, I feel MUCH DIFFERENT! I changed everything I put on my skin and hair and it has made a remarkable difference in how I sleep and feel. I have more energy, and am clearer headed, no head fog anymore, and when I exit the shower I have never felt cleaner! No more parfums, chemicals, fragrances. Just old fashioned clean with a scrub brush and Out of Africa Shea Butter Soap! Done, I also use the soap on my face. http://www.naturalhealth-wellness.com/index.cfm?option=view&newsitemid=13438&nid=9603&optionid=9603
There is a lot to be said for chemicals in products and how they affect you!
Check out this story! http://www.wellsphere.com/healthy-eating-article/are-xenoestrogens-ruining-your-girlish-figure-health-happiness/1178369
Are Xenoestrogens Ruining Your Girlish Figure, Health & Happiness?
|
When your hormones are perfectly in balance, you feel like you can conquer the world, but when they are off, they can make add volume to your belly, hips and thighs; may cause a number of health problems; and ignite terrible mood swings.
While a number of factors influence the balance of our hormones, women in many developed nations have an additional man-made force playing havoc on our hormones that our great grandmothers didn’t have to contend with–xenoestrogens, compounds that mimic estrogen in our bodies and can alter hormonal activity. They are found in plastics, pesticides and growth hormones given to livestock and poultry, which we consume. Since men are also inundated with these chemicals, they are also suffering from estrogen dominance when exposed to xenoestrogens, which is thought to contribute to hair loss, atherosclerosis, prostate problems, lowered libido, weight gain and impotency. Simple steps to minimize your exposure to xenoestrogen, include choosing organic produce whenever possible, especially for the ones sprayed with the most pesticides (click here to see the Environmental Working Group’s list of the top 10 most contaminated fruits and veggies ). Also, buy hormone-free, organic meats and milk, preferably from grass-fed animals. Use glass food containers and stainless steel water bottles instead of plastics. Paint your home with low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) paint. Do not microwave your food in plastic containers or covered in plastic wrap. Choose organic, natural body care products and natural cleaning products. Detoxing the liver will help your body to metabolize xenoestrogens more efficiently. Drink plenty of purified water and eat cruciferous vegetables, such as broccoli, kale, cauliflower and spinach. In addition to their detoxifying properties, cruciferous vegetables contain an an estrogen-balancing chemical called indole-3-carbinol. While we live in an imperfect world, it doesn’t mean we have to go through life blindly assaulted by the things we cannot see. Since knowledge is power, the more you know about the things that can hurt you, like xenoestrogens, the more control you can take over your health. Xenoestrogens are so pervasive in our world, that no one can avoid them. So, how can you detoxify your body and eliminate them as much as possible? Luckily, there are many natural xenoextstrogen detoxifiers to add to our diet or supplements. Phytoestrogens are probably at the top of the list. Why would you want to put MORE estrogen into your body, you ask? It’s because phytoestrogens, found in plants, bind to the receptors that xenoestrogens bind to and keep them from accumulating in your body. These weak estrogens, found in beans, leafy green vegetables and oils, are a very good way to detoxify and remove xenoestrogens naturally. Another good detoxifier and cancer preventive is Indole 3-Carbinol found in cruciferous vegetables like kale, cabbage and broccoli. You can find Indole 3-Carbinol in capsules, but getting it from vegetables also gives you the rest of the plant’s nutrition. It helps your liver remove xenoestrogens and also provides vitamins and minerals that enhance your body’s immune system. One thing that may NOT be good for reducing xenoestrogens is coffee. Some studies show that caffeine boosts estrogen levels at more than a single cup a day. Of course, there are many more foods and drinks that contain caffeine, so it would be wise to be aware of this when choosing beverages and meals. By choosing natural foods and personal care products and avoiding plastics, it’s possible to cut way down on the xenoestrogens that enter your body, but you can’t eliminate them entirely. To avoid the weight gain and health risks they pose, use the tips in this article to detox naturally.

Prada… Infusion D’Iris Hydrating Body Lotion has a Deliciously Clean Scent …
Thanks to Catherine Paret, I was introduced to this marvelous (hee hee hee) product! She stopped by last night and surprised me with this wonderful gift, and I immediately opened it, and put it on my arms and hands to try it out. The scent remained intact, but wasn’t over bearing! The lotion has a silky consistency and it glides on and goes a long way. It sort of has that whole foods organic-y iris, floral smell, if that makes sense. I love it! Thanks Catherine!!
This is the actual product description which to my surprise uses the word “silky” as I did. I didn’t read it before I wrote!
As elusive and unique as the precious ingredient from which it takes its name, INFUSION D’ IRIS fuses tradition with idealism, heritage moulded to modernity, classicism reinterpreted through originality.
INFUSION D’ IRIS is like a dream, an Italian voyage, an ambiance, the smell of soap, the clean scent of crisp linen sheets, and naked skin. It combines classic, exceptional quality ingredients from Italy such as the Iris Pallida from Florence and the warm top note glow of Sicilian mandarin. It expresses itself through its contrast between a great freshness and apparent lightness and a type of tender veil, sensual, and strong, that envelops the body and the clothing of the woman who wears the fragrance.
INFUSION D’ IRIS evokes an ultra feminine experience set within a world of luxury and Possibility—quintessential Prada universe.

Set a Goal and Meet It.. Head On…
This is my very first Video Blog.. I didn’t want to over think, over plan, and over prepare… I thought to jump in, do it, get it done, since I told about 6 people I was going to start video blogging.. I HAD TO DO IT… I don’t prefer to be thought of as “hot air.” I am a doer, and that is how I live, breathe and operate. While it isn’t perfect, it was fun, challenging to step outside my comfort zone and go it alone. I hope you enjoy it… I will improve with practice and hope to entertain, inform, and impart wisely, responsibly… responsibly within my world of reasoning, which can be drastically different than the norm… my gift to you is direct, without pretense… me..

Slip into something delicious for summer, Calypso Chevrefeuille
Christiane Celle is the genius behind Calypso. Her brand of beautiful, bohemian fashion has established her stores as a “must go”, whether in NYC, Boston, Paris or St. Tropez. Over the past 16 years, the retailer has grown from a small resort-wear line to a global luxury lifestyle brand with a passionate following. While I’m a huge fan of her clothing and home goods, I’m especially in love with her perfumes. Her line includes nine delicious fragrances ranging from Mimosa and Gardenia to Vanille and, my personal favorite – Chevrefeuille. This elegant fragrance is a cool mix of Honeysuckle, Orange and Bergamot with a warm finish of Neroli and Jasmine.
You can find it online here for $50: http://bit.ly/Calypso
It retails for $55 but I’ve found it on Ebay for as low as $45.99.
If you’re in the market for a new, light summer fragrance, this may just be what you’re looking for.
