Directions:

Step 1.  “Pump it Up, Leave it On ” Collagen Eye Mask.   Apply the mask under both eyes with your fingers, you should see the product all the way across under your eye. DO NOT BLEND! Use a lot more than you would normally.

Step 2.  Line Putty.  Sweep the line putty right over top the eye mask. Now, take one of the enclosed sponges, and press the product into your skin. It will all appear to disappear. Don’t blend, PRESS.

Step 3.  Camouflage Eye Disguise.  Sweep all the way across under your eye, and on your lid. Use alot, paint it on!!! Now, with the same sponge, blend in the concealer. On Friday, I had sort of reached my pinnacle and was about to become unhinged. I needed something to make me feel like I was on vacation. I was thinking, I need some sort of spiritual and physical intervention. Was it reiki that I needed? I figured out that massage was the only way for me to fully relax and feel differently physically, spiritually and mentally, at least for this day. After work, and a recommendation from a professional masseuse, I drove over to COCO Spa in Westport for my massage. I didn’t know what to expect because I never knew it existed and was pleasantly surprised by it’s size, and the caring and professional staff. As you enter the spa, to the left is a large circular area where people are manicured and pedicured, and to the right, through the door are a number of massage and facial rooms that sort of mimic the quality of Noelle Day Spa. Meaning clean, spacious, nicely painted, well appointed, peaceful- and professional.

I got a great massage from Eunice who didn’t talk too much, but engaged me in an appropriate manner while loosening up my muscles. She instituted a mixture of deep tissue and swedish massage, along with hot stones, which is exactly what I required. As I lay there, I asked if there is anyway I could get a facial as well. I haven’t had one in about a year and a half. Although, I didn’t understand her response due to a language barrier, I found myself not expecting one, thought my request was too last minute, but after my massage she led me to another room with another woman to do my facial. I was thrilled!

The facial was excellent, although painful. Facials are sort of like dental cleanings, you wonder if you were remiss all this time, not cleansing properly, but at the end, your skin radiates and the particular facial I chose was of the tightening variety, infusing collagen, and also mixed with a deep cleaning. I figured I ought to really go all the way since it had been far too long. I took the liberty to research what sort of a machine she used, but it resembled an ultrasound machine with a warm feeling, and found that the results are reported as such:

Face lifting and skin tightening
-Body shaping
-Face and neck wrinkle eliminating
-Removing acne and dark circle around eyes
-Improving skin-metabolism
-Diminishing inflammation

I met the person who runs Sunsations, Tom, at his girlfriend’s house party Monday night and had a discussion about the come back of the “spray tan”.. and whether or not it might make sense for me to book appointments once again through a whole different salon.. I used to co-own Smart Sun in Greenwich a few years back where I mastered the art of the spray tan and obtained a lot of happy clients quickly.  It was an interesting and fun business that required huge people skills.  I say that because women are standing for a long time in front of you either in their underwear and bra, bikini, one piece, topless or completely nude for as long as it takes for you to spray them down! This can render one vulnerable and uncomfortable.  I digress… so at times, I think, should I ever do that again, sometime? A. I was very good at it and B. I made people laugh and feel completely comfortable!

Yesterday, I go to sunsations to check out the booth, spray tan. I have never done that before and I will say I loved the glow of the bronzer in the spray directly after booth experience, and it harkened me back to a time where I was golden tan for the entire summer; the summer I was spraying others! BUT, I didn’t care for all the over-spray and the inhalation of it during my booth tan AT ALL. I also found it difficult to hold my breath while the spray shot out of the machine going up and down the wall. I felt a little panicky as I had to inhale the overspray and felt the wind so strong from the spray. I did not find it to be relaxing.  It is also quite difficult to control overspray on different areas of the body. My right hand got particularly whacked with overspray and in between my fingers is stark white.  Overall, I don’t mind the color everywhere else, and I have to admit, I love feeling tanned, but I am not sure I want my face SO tanned.  I like how white my teeth look, but do feel a bit orangey face-wise.

The secret in a great spray tan is in an even application and a superior product.  I have the fever now,  and like to feel like I have color because I am totally porcelain-ed skinned, but am a bit apprehensive about inhaling the over-spray in the booth again. I coughed for a few hours after I left.  I don’t care if it is organic, or not, it can’t be great for you.  I wore a mask when I tanned others, and offered them the same because many women didn’t want to tan their face, they would apply bronzer themselves to match their bodies.  I am a proponent of spray tans because I have had some cancerous cells removed from my face, stomach and back, and it hurt, and required many stitches.  I might want to look into a personal sprayer, to avoid inhalation of over-spray and to get a more even and natural looking application.

That being said, will I do it again? I might, If I can’t find a reasonably priced person to spray me, or find a product I can apply myself for great results.  There are a few out there, which I have blogged about here, but you cannot beat a spray tan by a skilled spray tanner! I know that for a fact!
