Got FRIZZY, UNRULY, DAMAGED WAVY HAIR? YOU and I need OUIDAD!

logo_90417

For the longest time I have been telling my friends that IF I ever went camping with a guy and took a dip in the lake, and didn’t have access to a blow dryer the guy would run for the hills once my hair “air dried”!! My unblown hair looks like a cross between bozo the clown and Rosanna Dana from SNL, back in the day! I swear to you, I could never let my hair air dry! I woke up at 3 am Saturday and saw this product infomercial for CURL CONFIDENCE! I couldn’t believe it, all the women on there had the same problems I did with my hair, If I didn’t blow dry it it basically looks AWFUL ! I knew I had some curls and waves underneath the frizz but I didn’t know how to make them happen and look decent, or get that effortless beach tousled hair we all want and love!

MY NEW WAVES! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU OUIDAD!

MY NEW WAVES! I LOVE IT! THANK YOU OUIDAD!

I finally got it! I didn’t order off the infomercial because I had an Ouidad salon right down the street and opted to get product IN HAND immediately and paid $10 more for no shipping and immediate results! I wore my new curly hair on Saturday for the first time.. or more wavy, but since  I always blow it out, it felt majorly curly and I was a little weary.. but the reviews were stellar!

My friends who saw me LOVED it and so did I! I am happy to not have to blow out my highlighted hair every time I wash it now and I love being able to change it up! So happy I got these two products!

SelfGrowth.com One of My Favorite Web Sites.. Check it Out! Great for New Year Personal Goals!

bask in the sunlight of self improvement

bask in the sunlight of self improvement

Occassionally I stumble upon some amazing web sites that are chock full of helpful information and SelfGrowth.Com is one of my faves.  I have signed up to be on their email list and get great tips via email on a regular basis from some of the leading self improvement, human potential experts out there.  This site is relatively new, but growing quickly.  I get totally excited about supplements, health and attempting to feel my best all the time.  I won’t lie, I have been feeling a little fatigued lately, so I have been very focused on creating energy, vitality, and health in 2010! I want to feel PERFECT.. don’t we all? I will share with you what I do… short of chocolate.. which I am going to have to give up… because I have an aggressive fitness goal for this year of my life… plus, the gym is so great for people watching.  What makes me laugh is EVERYone looks miserable and looks you in the eye at the gym.  When I people watch, I don’t look people in the eye, I do it discreetly.  The gym and the train are curious places… people are generally focused, blank faced, appear somewhat miserable and tense… HA HA HA … I am going on a tangent here… back to SelfGrowth.com. CHECK IT OUT..

On the home page, there is a great article on Amino Acids, which I already knew about because of reading Ultra Brain, but I will cut and past a down and dirty list for you all, SO HELPFUL…

Link for full article on Amino Acids is here: http://www.selfgrowth.com/articles/amino_acids_vital_for_optimal_body_function

Make sure you look for supplements with the following ingredients:

Acetyl L-Carnation: This anti-aging compound will enhance your immune function, stimulate antioxidant activity and slow mental aging.
N-Acetyl Cysteine: This powerhouse compound enhances the effectiveness of other antioxidants and helps the liver produce the MEGA-antioxidant glutathione.
L-Alanine: Your body relies heavily on this amino acid for protein synthesis.
L-Arginine: This plays a role in cell division, healing of wounds, ammonia removal, immune function and the release of hormones. It has also been shown to increase hGH production, improve exercise performance and promote heart health.
L-Aspartic Acid: Because aspartic acid increases stamina, many people find it very helpful in fighting fatigue.
L-Glutamine: This amino can pass through the blood-brain barrier and is regarded as the “ultimate brain food.”

They forget L-Tyrosine, which I LOVE… but Amino Acids are the joint when it comes to energy and protein synthesis!

Do You Love Modern, Hip, Trendy, YET Classic Quality Jewelry with a Bit of “Salt of the Earth” Edgy Feel.. YARA Jewelry

Style "CORFU"

Style "CORFU"

If you are more of a hip minimalist with your look and style; or even someone who appreciates good quality, weighted, and sturdy jewelry, you will love YARA

My pal, Randi Levine, and I favor the same sort of “look” which is comprised of  rather simple attire rocked to the nines with bad a$$ accessories, to make it our own.  We are not fans of the big floral print “old lady” “blouses” with the GIANT handbags, and “over-sold”  sort of costume-like fashion-slave look.  I actually am quite embarrassed to wear anything deemed “trendy” by enmasse.. I will, however, purchase one to two pieces of trend per season, but bury them in my look or make it my own.  We prefer to punch it home with some oddly coupled accessories, great quality, AMERICANA, Classic, yet somehow we make it trendy style.  Simple, Sexy, American, and maybe a little tomboy, but SUPER feminine, if that makes sense.. Now that I have that story out of the way… YOU HAVE GOT TO CHECK OUT THIS JEWELRY LINE! Talk about layering pieces and most importantly, they are TIMELESS.. not utterly trendy so they won’t be passe come spring time, or EVER.  This style will endure, like a beautiful Cashmere Ralph Lauren sweater, or a great trench coat… NECESSARY and long living, and lasting! That is why the price should not deter you, even though the price is not EXPENSIVE….  This jewelry is weighted, but not heavy to wear…. significant and makes a statement, therefore, wearable for many years to come.  This jewelry is so impressive that THEORY, the brand that we all love for it’s fit and elegant simplicity chose to sell them… !! Paula constructs each piece herself, and I appreciate that work and dedication, as I make all the belts I sell. This jewelry can be carried by a man as well… trust me, the earthy, LA, or NYC man who is confident, with a sense of style… a few select pieces…

"Nickel Floating Cube"

"Nickel Floating Cube"

What is awesome about the Floating Nickel Cube piece is that it is literally 4 in 1! you can wear it layered on your wrist with the cuff above as a bracelet, or you can wear it as a super long necklace, or doubled as a necklace, or tripled as a necklace/choker…

My friend, Paula Lapkin, is the designer behind Yära jewelry, an exciting new company based in New York. Yära jewelry offers a modern collection of jewelry that adds an effortlessly cool, edgy look to any outfit.

Layering is what it is all about here.... HOT!

Layering is what it is all about here.... HOT!

SHE HAS GENEROUSLY given my readers a COUPON CODE FOR HER WEB SITE for 30% OFF : Use Coupon Code: friendofsandra, ALL ONE WORD… (I have the two pieces featured in this blog.. amazing)

Yära means Queen of the Sea and was the name of her family’s first sailboat.  Paula’s love of the ocean and natural elements plays a strong influence in her designs and her choice of materials.  Using natural Greek leather and hand-made Greek beads, Paula creates distinct, beautiful pieces.  Following an atypical path into the jewelry business, Paula first studied art history, then dabbled as an interior designer before focusing on her true love – jewelry.   Paula’s designs are classic, chic and very modern. Paula’s ability to mix different materials, shapes and techniques creates a collection that is simple but says so much.  All of her jewelry is hand-made of the highest quality.  There is a reason that Paula is one of the hottest new designers.  Everything just clicks – the materials, craftsmanship and designs are second to none.  As good as these pieces look in the pictures, they look and feel twice as good in person.  Try one, and we assure you that you will be back for more.

Wake up to the World you LOVE.. it IS POSSIBLE.. because ANYTHING is POSSIBLE… Tama Kieves is AWESOME..

tama

This woman inspires me! I learned about her because I work with Dr. Henry Grayson and listened to his archived radio show where he interviews Tama.  If you go to Dr. Henry Grayson’s web site and go to radio show archives page and scroll down, you will see the show with Tama, and I urge you to listen to it… www.henrygrayson.com , especially if you are at a cross roads in your life or simply need confirmation that the decision you made to strike out on your own without a 9-5 job to follow your dream is the right one.

I am of firm belief that we only go around once, (I think).. and for this time I am here I want to express what is closest to my heart and what I love.. that is sharing great information, humor, and inspiring the people around me.  Coming from a generation where our parents were dependant on their job, their retirement, and their percieved security will make it a challenge to convince them to trust you in your endeavors.  For they were brought up in a way to value the job that didn’t necessarily define them, but would “pay the bills.”  I urge all of you to sit back and think about what it is that you truly love and try to imagine yourself making a living doing what you love!  If you can’t figure out what you love, search through your hobbies, and think about how you like to enjoy your spare time, you may begin to figure it out.

I, personally,  am now in a position in life where I have figured out how to make a living doing the things I love as an independent contractor, while at the same time realizing my creative expression through my belt business (which I LOVE) www.olivergreenonline.comand my blogging which is an essential part of my self expression and NONE of it feels like work!  For those of you who know me well, I am naturally inclined to communicate and share much of what I learn about through my research, work and natural curiosity.  I have always posessed a generous and altruistic spirit, since I was a small child.  Those of you from high school and childhood, who truly knew me, would recall me sharing and informing about everything I knew.. clothing, make-up, music, trends, entertainment, and just about anything that interested me.  I also recall getting in trouble a lot for talking.. big surprise ;) .

Blogging comes so naturally to me, like eating a meal, getting dressed in the morning, or driving to where I need to go.. it is instinctual, authentic and at the core of me, ME…for lack of a better description.  I will soon have 5 blogs in addition to the 2 part time positions, and my belt business.  For some reason, I don’t feel overwhelmed in the least.  I feel peaceful, happy and excited each and every day for the information I may come across may help me or someone else in whatever it is they are attempting to achieve.

In the meantime, please open your minds to Tama Kieves, because she has an impressive story and if you can listen to her show, you will get inspired… Our brains require tune ups just like our cars, and we all should feed our conscious mind motivating messages as often as we can.  Life doesn’t have to be one big stress ball… it shouldn’t be.. it is all how we react to it and how we learn to harness our natural abilities to swim it effortlessly.

Tama J. Kieves, an honors graduate of Harvard Law School, left her law practice with a large corporate law firm to write and to embolden others to live and breathe their most meaningful self-expression. She is the best-selling author of THIS TIME I DANCE! Creating the Work You Love/How One Harvard Lawyer Left It All to Have It All (©2003 Tarcher/Penguin) which was chosen as a Finalist for the national Nautilus Book Award, along with the Dalai Lama’s The Art of Happiness.
Kieves is a sought-after speaker and career coach and has helped thousands of individuals world-wide to live their creative dreams.

Tama’s Radio Interview with Henry Grayson: http://henrygrayson.com/radio Dr. Grayson is a skilled interviewer who instinctively knows how to extract the best and most useful information from his radio guests.  This show is a worthwhile listen because he brings out the BEST in Tama and gets to the core of it all so that you can grasp the message clearly!  (scroll down until you see it)
