Perspective Part Deux

singing pinkI woke up this morning after working/training until 1 AM at around 8:30 am. I stretched, and then put on some gear and decided to go for a walk to the grocery store, which I have never done. I strap on my backpack, plug in my ipod, turn it up and journey. I sang aloud to the songs as I walked, with not a care in the world, acutely aware of each step, and my surroundings. I sang louder, trying my best to keep in tune, although I couldn’t hear the quality of my voice, it felt great to bellow out, Bitter Sweet Symphony, Ghost in My Head, Landmine Spring, and a host of other great tunes. My mind then began to ponder why people care so much about what others think. Why do people care so much? People will refrain from singing  aloud if they know they “cannot sing well.” People will be quiet in line at a grocery store, or any public place with others and be mindful of how they are coming off, or behaving around others. Why is that? Why don’t more people move to the music in their headphones, sing and be joyous? I will tell you why, BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID OF WHAT OTHERS THINK! I cannot think of anything more ludicrous and more  imprisoning spiritually!

Imagine a world where people were spontaneously friendly, and outwardly joyous! Most people deem strangers who are cheerful to be weird or a little off! It is astounding to me that this is the norm. That people find people who are stomping through the world silently, miserably and self consciously to be normal! The insanity of it all just stimulates me even more intellectually to conduct personal experiments or create simple goals which can be incredibly satisfying. For example, today as I walked singing my Ozzy song, I crossed I95 on a bridge and extended my arms wide and peered over at the cars going under it

armssinging aloud and with great spirit, mind you and felt amazing! I felt amazing that I broke out of my personal shell and sang to the cars below, arms spread wide and smiling, feeling the sunshine on my face and shoulders. Something so simple (my experiment) made me alive, and exhuberant! So simple, right? I cautioned myself not to sing to quietly if I passed someone on the street, for fear of what they may think and stay steady on my path of happiness and feeling AWESOME! That was totally enlivening as well… AND in the Stop and Shop continued in my great mood in line in customer service, leaving my music loud and actually moving to it, and smiling, not giving a fuck what anyone thought! Let me report, that everyone around me was feeling me, was looking my way, smiling and effectived positively by my joy and happiness and state of non-self consiousness.  I was alive in a sea of strangers just doing my thing, not allowing them to put a damper on my vibe. As I strolled through the store to pick up that mack daddy au naturale apple cider vinegar, natural honey in glass, a sweet potato, some vine tomatoes and natural dish washing soap AND an ironing board cover that doesn’t resemble my a grandmother’s bad taste in table cloths, for my sewing shop, I listened to great music, and my energy was upbeat, and I found children looking at me, smiling, and other’s awareness of my presence. It was all positive.

guitar

I got back to the register with my old school Adidas backpack, camoflage exercise capri length bad ass pants and sports bra top- with oakley wrap shades, ha ha ha.. have to give you the full picture here and my cashier automatically knew I didn’t need a bag and had to fit my items in my back pack! She became enlivened as I interacted with her as well, and was curious to see how I would tetris my shit in my bag and throw that thing, african style on my back to trek back home!  We laughed and she got it without me stating the obvious. I ventured out into the norwalk heat, trekking back to my crib with my natural items in my bag, not polluting the air, singing my balls off in the morning sun feeling fucking great to be alive and to have the perspective and the thoughts that I do to appreciate the simple hike that I participated in this am, and felt grateful for the perspective and the things that I learned along the way.  Yah, fuckin A…. Just do it people… Simplify, feel it, and stop worrying about all the average people in the world, what they think, and spread some light, joy and happiness without a care in the world. I am sorry if I offend with my cursing, but I find it utterly essential at times to make a point. Lighten up, have some fun with language and always intersperse your curse words with some deep thoughts and great vocabulary. This day kicks major ass…. and I guess I am a rock and roll spiritualist- a  little rough around the edges, but certainly always well intentioned.

I Drink Hot Tea Made of Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey.. Try it.. Read Below to SEE WHY~!

vinegar_and_honey

Benefits of Honey!

Weight Loss

Losing weight is just one of the many health benefits of honey. One tablespoon of honey contains approximately 70 calories, while the same amount of sugar contains 45 calories. However, honey is sweeter than sugar, so you won’t need to take too much of it.

Honey can supply the body with energy supply for a period of several hours. However, although it gives you energy, it does not cause you to gain weight! Why? Because you won’t be hungry during the day since you have sufficient energy supply in your body. Not hungry = eat less :)

Try taking 3-4 tablespoons in the morning, and 2 more before dinner.

Energy Booster

Another health benefit of honey is that it contains natural sugars which act as energy booster for the body. The glucose contained in honey is easily absorbed by the blood to give instant energy, and the fructose will be absorbed slowly by the body to sustain energy.

This is why honey is a great source of energy for people who are active in sports and outdoor activities. Taking honey can help athletes regain their stamina. Products such as energy bars withhoney and honey milk are very popular meals among athletes.

Antibacterial Effect

Honey has a powerful antibacterial effect due to several components:

1) Osmotic effect

A high level of water and sugar contained in honey (especially fructose) causes it to have a high osmotic effect. This effect will prevent the micro organisms in the body to spread.

2) Hydrogen peroxide

The presence of sugar and water, along with free oxygen in honey, will create gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Both of these elements are beneficial to kill microorganisms inside the body.

3) Acidity

The acidity of honey is one of the factors that contribute to its antibacterial effect, antioxidant activities, and stability against microorganisms. The pH level of undiluted honey varies from 3.2 to 4.5 and this low acidity level inhibits the growth of bacterial pathogens, as some types of bacteria require a pH level of 7.2 to 7.4 to grow. Honey acidity is due to organic acids, especially gluconic acid which is a result of glucose oxidase in honey on glucose. This acid is produced when nectar is transformed into honey and it increases on storage.

One type of honey that is known for its antibacterial properties is Manuka Honey.A recent research has found that Active Manuka Honey has another powerful antibacterial property known as UMF (Unique Manuka Factor). The combination of both hydrogen peroxide and UMF has been proven to have an astounding healing effect, including healing wounds.

One great thing is you can still get the honey health benefits by combining it with other ingredients. For instance, the combination of honey and cinnamonis found to have an astounding effect for many diseases such as heart diseases, arthritis, hair loss, stomach upsetness, halitosis (bad breath) and many more. Another popular combination that also makes an effective home remedy is apple cider vinegar and honey.

So, knowing all these wonderful health benefits of honey, who says sweet treats cannot be healthy? ;)

CIDER VINEGAR BENEFITS!

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away” (the dentist too!) – is an oft quotation which should not be considered as just an obsolete “Old Wives Tale”, as there is more than meets the eye in these axioms of yore. Apples are among the most health-giving fruits available as they contain a host of nutritious properties viz: Phosphorous, Cholerine, Potassium, Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium, Sulphur, Iron, Fluorine, Silicon, plus many trace elements ……. and all of these are found in PURE APPLE CIDER VINEGAR.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Amongst other things, cider vinegar is very effective in detoxicating various organs in the body together with the blood stream. Hence it is a purifier, as it has a means of breaking down fatty, mucous and phlegm deposits within the body. It therefore, promotes the health of the vital organs of the body e.g. kidneys, bladder, liver etc., by preventing an excessively alkaline urine. Cider vinegar also helps oxidate the blood which consequently prevents the blood from becorning too thick and gluey, which gives rise to a strained heart and blood vessels resulting in high blood pressure. Cider vinegar also promotes digestion, assimilation and elimination and it neutralizes any toxic substance taken into the body. There have been a number of instances where people who had taken a mixture of cider vinegar and water before a meal were unaffected by diarrhoea, or digestive upsets, whilst their companions who ate the same meal were. Hence the cider vinegar seemed to neutralize the harmful substances in the food eaten.

POTASSIUM

Apple cider vinegar has a potent supply of potassium which has become so widely acclaimed in the helping of various complaints including: running nose. Excessive mucous formation, watery eyes, sinus and catarrhal troubles. Teeth decay and the splitting of finger nails are also signs of potassium deficiency which are remedied by taking cider vinegar. Potassium is essential for the normal growth of the body and for the replacement of worn-out tissues which depend upon the presence of this mineral. It is as important to the soft tissues, as calcium is to the bones and teeth and it also retards the hardening of the blood vessels.

As potassium is so important in the healthy growth of a plant, animal and human, a deficiency of this mineral will produce such tendencies as callous formations on the soles of the feet, or the failure to replace worn-out tissues as observed in the loss of hair.

Tests have proven that a soil deficient in this mineral-salt will produce anaemic and undersized plants, however, when potassium is introduced into the soil the plant becomes sturdier and increases in height. This is also the case with animals, where potassium which was fed to livestock, in the form of cider vinegar, improved their appearance and stamina. Humans too, can benefit with this increased potassium intake. Especially where children are slow developers and appear undersized. A few teaspoons of cider vinegar taken with water each morning will show tremendous results. The best way to introduce cider vinegar to the family, is to substitute it for the ordinary table vinegar and use it in the cooking. Potassium acts as a restraining influence upon those who are over-excitable and nervous. It draws fluid back into the cells, for when potassium is lacking the body cells shrink and their normal activity is restricted.

THE USES OF CIDER VINEGAR

A number of outstanding authorities have proven the therapeutic advantages of using cider vinegar for numerous complaints ranging from obesity and overweight to arthritis. Besides the therapeutic benefits derived from taking cider vinegar therapy, as outlined in this book, it can also be used for a number of other purposes e.g. salad dressing, pickling, a flavour in cooking etc. It also makes a very refreshing drink, hot or cold, with or without honey – this should take the place of normal tea and coffee which are so habit-forming and unnecessary commodities.

Try using cider vinegar where lemon juice is required e.g. in making mayonnaise, or just sprinkle some on a salad before serving; sprinkle on pawpaw for a refreshing breakfast, or just use on potato chips!

EFFECTS OF CIDER VINEGAR ON THE BLOOD

When the blood is deficient in some minerals or biochemic salt, ill-health is the outcome e.g. boils break out, suppurating blisters become apparent, pimples appear on the face etc. It has been found however, that cider vinegar helps with the cleansing as well as the clotting of the blood. Oxidation of the blood is very important and cider vinegar is again an effective treatment for this. Besides introducing the important minerals into the blood stream, as mentioned above, cider vinegar also helps in the clotting of blood. This is of tremendous help to those people who are commonly termed ‘bleeders’, as they live their lives in fear of cutting themselves due to the bloods inability to clot, and it will also enhance the healing process.

AILMENTS

ARTHRITIS:

Use the cider vinegar and honey treatment for arthritis and also apply cider vinegar externally to painful joints. This entails drinking a glass of water with two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two teaspoons of honey three times a day. Local treatment can also be given by soaking the arthritic hand, or foot in a strong, comfortably hot solution of cider vinegar for ten minutes, two or three times a day – (a quarter of a cup of cider vinegar to one and a half cups of water). Arthritic knees can be attended to by making a poultice – soak the cloth in a mixture of cider vinegar and water, (as per above mixture) wring out and wrap it around the joint, then secure with a dry cloth to retain heat. When the wet cloth cools, it should be wrung out in the hot solution and applied afresh. Repeat several times, twice daily.

ASTHMA:

One tablespoonful of cider vinegar added to a glass of water should be taken in sips for half an hour. After a further half an hour has elapsed the treatment should be repeated. The wheezing should lessen in intensity quite considerably. However, should wheezing still persist a second glass of the same mixture should be taken. Deep breathing exercises are also a beneficial treatment.

BLOOD LOSS:

It has been discussed above how cider vinegar helps in preventing blood losses. In any circumstances where the flow of blood is too free and is too persistent, such as when a person has a nose bleed without any apparent reason, then two teaspoons of cider vinegar in a glass of water, three times a day will aid in restoring the natural clotting properties of the blood.

COLITIS:

The cider vinegar and honey treatment has been used effectively in the treatment for colitis. Take the normal dosage of two teaspoons cider vinegar and honey with water, three times a day. An enema of a teaspoonful or more of molasses is also very helpful.

COUGHS:

There are many types of coughs for various reasons, and these should be treated with reference to their nature and intensity. However, the cider vinegar and honey treatment will prove an efficacious treatment in this respect. Two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey mixed with a glassful of water should be taken before meals, or when the irritation occurs. In the evening it would be an idea to have this mixture by your bed so that it can be sipped during the evening if an attack presents itself.

DIARRHEA:

It has been mentioned above how cider vinegar helps with the digestion, assimilation and elimination of food, and that it is an antiseptic to the intestines and the whole of the digestive tract. Due to it’s healing properties, diarrhoea can be controlled in a very short time, (that is unless some serious physical disorder is apparent). The treatment being, one teaspoonful of cider vinegar in a glass of water should be taken before and in between meals i.e. approximately six glasses during the course of the day. It should be noted, however, that diarrhoea is a natural attempt on the part of the body to eliminate some poison which is irritating the digestive tract, on no account should any drugs be taken to suppress these healing symptoms – on the other hand the cider vinegar will lessen the intensity, but will allow the natural course of elimination to take place.

DIZZINESS:

Two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar together with two teaspoons of honey in a glass of hot or cold water three times a day should help this annoying occurrence quite considerably. However, one should never expect instant results, as nature works slowly, yet very effectively. You will notice a lessened intensity whilst you progress.

EAR DISCHARGE:

The treatment for this complaint, which usually occurs during childhood is: one teaspoonful of cider vinegar in a glass of water to be taken mid morning and mid afternoon. The discharge should shortly disappear.

ECZEMA:

Take the usual dosage of cider vinegar and honey in a glassful of water three times a day, with meals. An application of well diluted cider vinegar can also be applied to the skin several times daily i.e. one teaspoonful to half a cup of water. Under no circumstances should salt be taken, as this aggravates the eczema condition considerably. There is usually a potassium deficiency in those people suffering from eczema.

EYES (TIRED AND SORE):

The cider vinegar therapy together with honey is the essential ingredients here. Two teaspoons of each taken in a glassful of water, three times a day. This mixture retards the onset of tired and sore eyes which are usually apparent in later life, as it supplies them with those vital elements essential to their health and functioning.

FATIGUE:

Chronic fatigue is a warning that the body needs some attention. Most people suffering from chronic fatigue do not have enough good, sound sleep. Either they go to bed too late, or they are one of those people who just need more sleep than most. It is better to get as many hours in bed before midnight as possible. To remedy a poor quality sleep, honey is highly recommended, as it acts as a sedative to the body. Twenty minutes after the honey has been taken into the mouth it has been digested and absorbed into the body. This is because it is a predigested sugar, which has been digested in the stomach of the honey bee, and therefore requires no effort on the part of the human stomach for digestion. Keep the following mixture by your bedside to be taken as indicated: three teaspoons of apple cider vinegar to a cup of honey.

Take two teaspoons of the mixture before retiring. This should induce sound sleep within an hour, if however, you have been unable to sleep within this period repeat the dosage.

FOOD POISONING:

As mentioned earlier there have been many cases where people who were in the habit of taking cider vinegar regularly never suffer any side effects from food poisoning. The cider vinegar has an antiseptic quality which seems to render noxious food harmless.

HAIR LOSS:

The falling out of hair is primarily due to a tissue salt deficiency, thus cider vinegar with its ‘wonder products’ will re-establish a natural balance, and supply the deficiencies where needed. Therefore, by taking the cider vinegar treatment the hair will maintain its natural growth. It will cease to fall out and grow more rapidly and thickly. This will take approximately two months, so perseverence is needed. The dosage is one teaspoonful of cider vinegar to a glass of water to be taken with or between meals. Cider vinegar can also be used externally for the treatment of dandruff, see under heading of External Treatments.

HAYFEVER:

This ailment is marked by watery eyes, sneezing and running nose, in other words there is an excess of fluid which the body is drastically trying to offload. For an effective relief, honey and cider vinegar should be utilized which will bring excellent results. A tablespoonful of honey should be taken after each meal for approximately a fortnight before the onset of the hay-fever season. The ordinary dosage of cider vinegar and honey should then be taken viz: two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey in a glass of water, three times a day. This dosage should be maintained during the entire hay-fever season.

HEADACHES:

There are several types of headache, caused by various reasons. Some are associated with organic disorders, such as kidney troubles, others are known as psychogenic, or tension headaches. Then we have the most annoying of all; the migraine headache. Many people have had relief from headaches by the use of honey. Two teaspoons taken at each meal may well prevent an attack. Another effective means is to take apple cider vinegar. Equal parts of cider vinegar and water should be placed in a small basin on the stove, allowing it to boil slowly. When the fumes begin to rise from the basin lean your head over it until the fumes are comfortably strong. Inhale for approximately 50 to 80 breaths. Generally this alleviates the headache considerably, if not entirely.

HEARING:

(Impaired) The treatment of impaired hearing has had excellent results on the apple cider vinegar therapy. Take the normal dosage three times daily and notice the improvement.

HEARTBURN:

This usually occurs after eating, sometimes up to two hours later. This very unpleasant feeling can be alleviated by taking the usual dosage of cider vinegar and water before meals.

HEMORRHAGES:

As previously pointed out cider vinegar helps the blood to clot more easily. When a person who regularly drinks cider vinegar cuts himself, the wound will dry up almost instantaneously, as there will be no profuse bleeding. If, however, wounds do not heal quickly, the following procedure should be undertaken; two teaspoons of cider vinegar taken in half or a whole glass of water at mealtimes as well as in between, therefore six glasses in all are imbibed. For extra efficiency a very weak solution of cider vinegar with water can be applied to the sore, wound or cut.

Poultices of cider vinegar (see instructions under the heading Arthritis) can be applied to a stubborn open wound.

HICCOUGHS (HICCUPS):

These have been known to be eradicated by drinking a teaspoon of cider vinegar neat! Alternatively cider vinegar with water can be taken before mealtimes to prevent this occurrence.

HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE:

There are a number of reasons why a person suffers from this common yet serious condition. As mentioned earlier, health will be maintained only if one is prepared to adjust his living and eating habits. Cider vinegar is not the cure-ail of man’s suffering, it is only one of the many means towards a healthier and happier life. In the case of High Blood Pressure, one’s eating habits must be taken stock of to ensure a speedy and effective recovery. Emphasis is on the natural, organically grown foods which are given to us in the form of fresh fruits, vegetables and honey – rather than the high protein foods which include eggs, meat, milk, cheese, nuts, beans etc. A balance must be maintained between the proteins and carbohydrates and one should definitely not over indulge on these protein and starchy foods. Wheat products should also be eliminated completely, together with salt which is very detrimental to the health, especially for those suffering from high blood pressure. The following dosage should be taken daily: two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and honey in a glass of water – up to three to four times a day.

INSOMNIA:

There are also a number of causes as to why people suffer from insomnia; however, there have been excellent results with the cider vinegar and honey treatment as follows: two teaspoons of cider vinegar and two of honey in a glass of water to be taken before retiring. It would also be beneficial to have a glass of this mixture by the bedside to sip if needed. Under no circumstances should drugs be resorted to, as these are both harmful and habit-forming. Under severe cases, a naturopath or homeopath should be consulted. If has been found that the prime cause of insomnia is due to a deficiency of phosphate of potash and phosphate of iron; this combination can be found in the biochemic salt known as kali phos, which can be obtained from your local health shop.

KIDNEYS AND BLADDER:

Due to the eliminative nature of cider vinegar, the kidneys and bladder can benefit tremendously by a ‘flushing’, which they receive when the following cider vinegar therapy is undertaken: two teaspoons of cider vinegar in a glass of water six times a day. It would be beneficial to drink a couple of glasses of water in the morning, taking one teaspoonful of cider vinegar in each drink. Comfrey tea, first thing in the morning with a teaspoon of cider vinegar will also create a sufficient cleansing action. Inflammation of the kidneys, called pyelitis, in which pus cells are present in the urine, will generally clear up with the above-mentioned treatment.

Coco Spa, Westport, A Little Gem of a Place for Massage and Facials!

massageOn Friday, I had sort of reached my pinnacle and was about to become unhinged. I needed something to make me feel like I was on vacation. I was thinking, I need some sort of spiritual and physical intervention. Was it reiki that I needed? I figured out that massage was the only way for me to fully relax and feel differently physically, spiritually and mentally, at least for this day. After work, and a recommendation from a professional masseuse, I drove over to COCO Spa in Westport for my massage. I didn’t know what to expect because I never knew it existed and was pleasantly surprised by it’s size, and the caring and professional staff. As you enter the spa, to the left is a large circular area where people are manicured and pedicured, and to the right, through the door are a number of massage and facial rooms that sort of mimic the quality of Noelle Day Spa. Meaning clean, spacious, nicely painted, well appointed, peaceful- and professional.

I got a great massage from Eunice who didn’t talk too much, but engaged me in an appropriate manner while loosening up my muscles. She instituted a mixture of deep tissue and swedish massage, along with hot stones, which is exactly what I required. As I lay there, I asked if there is anyway I could get a facial as well. I haven’t had one in about a year and a half. Although, I didn’t understand her response due to a language barrier, I found myself not expecting one, thought my request was too last minute, but after my massage she led me to another room with another woman to do my facial. I was thrilled!

Spa Resort

The facial was excellent, although painful. Facials are sort of like dental cleanings, you wonder if you were remiss all this time, not cleansing properly, but at the end, your skin radiates and the particular facial I chose was of the tightening variety, infusing collagen, and also mixed with a deep cleaning. I figured I ought to really go all the way since it had been far too long. I took the liberty to research what sort of a machine she used, but it resembled an ultrasound machine with a warm feeling, and found that the results are reported as such:

Face lifting and skin tightening
-Body shaping
-Face and neck wrinkle eliminating
-Removing acne and dark circle around eyes
-Improving skin-metabolism
-Diminishing inflammation

I wonder if she ever used that one on body parts? Probably not, just for facials I would imagine. Wouldn’t it be great to have one of these machines at home? However, they cost in the range of about $3-$4K. I just found a home use one for $1K http://www.wrinklesreducer.com/radio_frequency_treatment in case any of you are in the market for one! Seems like a great investment! Especially if you are interested in maintaining your skin’s appearance.

I had a good conversation with her about skincare, and her skin was immaculate due to her giving herself weekly facials. She was perfection. I love that Asian women really care for their skin. It is almost religion for these women. I felt like I needed to hear what she had to say and hopefully absorb it through mental osmosis- you know, the importance of going the extra mile for great skin! She assured me that my skin was better than average, but that it required much more care. 3 Days later, my skin still feels tight and clean. She mentioned that the particular results that resulted from the treatment that I underwent will last up to 4 weeks. I will let you all know. In the meantime, if you want improved facial tightness, smaller pores, and overall even color, I recommend you visit COCO Spa, but realize that it is a timely procedure and relax with it.

What You Think, is Not What You Think- always, but sometimes…

translateThis am I was having my daily am call with my mom, whom I visited this weekend and I uncovered a real human phenomena in an ephemeral moment.  Ever have this person in your life of the other gender who you see in a potentiality sort of way, and they don’t see themselves in the same way?

I think we all do that, don’t we? We project, but also see other’s potential so much more than perhaps even they do. It is so strange to me that we cannot see ourselves entirely due to our internal chatter which can tell us, we aren’t as good as we think, or we cannot do something, or we operate from some familial manner in which was instilled by a family trend, or we absorb the limitations of our surroundings. Inherent in this awakening that I believe some people have these  awesome qualities, this potential, per say, but they get stuck in this old way of being, thinking and settling which prevents them from stepping into the position of moving forward, reaching out, and embracing that which is possible, who they are, well, as I see them, and if only they could see themselves that way.  It is frustrating to have these thought processes because while they are inspiring,  intellectual and clarifying for me, the people that could be in question still remain where they are at the moment, in their inertia, their zone of adequate activity.

Although this isn’t a huge revelation, because we all do it, it was instrumental in me to understand a particular moment of thought. However now that is is revealed, now is it time to move on and let it be the way it is? Is it important to allow others to grow at their own rate or is it prudent to assist them in some way to see something different for themselves? A good question, indeed.

The Option Method- A Philosophy on Happiness– Poignant- Works in Real Time…

The CD that makes me think... an question!~

The CD that makes me think... an question!~

My friend, Rebecca Dolber, who happens to make the most excellent jewelery, sent me this CD, The intro to The Option Method because she knows I am a seeker of information that will improve and enhance my experience here– in my life! She said her aunt lived with this interesting Happiness Philosopher, well.. that is what I am choosing to title him- Bruce Di Marsico and that her aunt has introduced her to his teachings and what a profound effect it has had on her life recently in terms of happiness and satisfaction.

I listened to it the other day and have to say .. it is SO EFFECTIVE, and I didn’t even get into the program! The second part of the intro was mind blowing. When I listened to it, I was like, ok, I know that, sort of, and I absorbed it, but then I found myself afterwards, EACH TIME I wanted to get mad or be unhappy about something small or anything at all- I QUESTIONED IT! I actually stopped and thought about it and stopped the unhappy feeling right in their track!
Thank you Rebecca!  Swear to god, this CD seemed so subtle when listening, but it is so effective! I want to share it with all my friends!
Intro to web site copy is below:

Change your beliefs and change your life. The Option Method questions the beliefs that cause unhappiness, allowing for a profound and instantaneous transformation.

“Unhappiness happens in the dark, it happens in the half light of reason. The problem is that you think you know that you have to be unhappy. I suggest that it’s questionable. What if what you are feeling is just the result of a belief you have?”
– Bruce Di Marsico, creator of the Option Method and author of Unlock Your Happiness With Five Simple Questions: The Option Method

End your pursuit of happiness. Be happier now using the Option Method’s powerful Five Questions.

“You have spent a lifetime acquiring and cultivating beliefs, which you never realized before, are actually contrary to the wisdom within you.”
– Deborah Mendel, author of Be Happier Now: Your Personal Roadmap to a Life of Joy and Happiness — The Option Method Workbook

We all know happiness comes from within, not from material possessions! Either I watched something or had a dream last night about how acquiring possessions doesn’t bring happiness.. OH! I recall now, it was on Fox News, about how this couple got rid of everything non essential in their lives just to prove that happiness is derived from inside- I have to find that story!! Hold up- wait a minute…

Dr. Jose in Darien is ALL ABOUT IMPROVING Health, Weight and Appearance and Is Performing Miracles!

Dr. Jose, taking Beauty to the Next Level!

Dr. Jose, taking Beauty to the Next Level!

This weekend, one particular customer came into my craft booth at SONO Arts and told me a story that I couldn’t ignore! She told me she just lost about 30 lbs, and is steadily losing one pound a day HEALTHFULLY! She then said she was over 200 lbs and was happy to be buying a size medium belt- and soon would need an even smaller size! She also asked me to guess her age because the diet she was on was also eradicating crow’s feet around her eyes and diminishing greatly her frown lines! I guessed that she was 32. She is 40. Her skin was impeccable, and glowing- her hair hair texture has improved as well AND every bit of her cellulite has disappeared and she still has about 75 lbs to lose!

I asked what her secret was, she said the HCG Diet! I said, “What is that?” Raven then proceeded to tell me about Dr. Jose in Darien, who I am now dying to interview! I have looked up Dr. Jose today and am completely impressed with her ability to translate internal medicine to also incorporate dietary, and beauty procedures! How cool is that. She is making being a Dr. glamorous. Oh, and one more thing, Raven explained to me that this diet targets all fat areas and literally removes the fat from your body… WOW.. HOW EXCITING IS THAT? When I hear about doctors, procedures, and programs to assist people in helping them to feel better, look better and improve I cannot contain my excitement and immediately want to share it with all of you.

The HCG Diet
Ultimate Solutions is excited to introduce The HCG Diet, the latest, natural weight loss program of the rich and famous under the direct supervision of Dr. Jen Jose, a renowned physician and expert in diet and nutrition.

HCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin. It is a natural hormone present in both males and females. At birth, everyone has a certain amount of HCG. This hormone works in conjunction with the hypothalamus gland to regulate body fat, control emotions, and help to develop reproductive organs.

The HCG Diet was built on the principle that when this natural hormone is circulating throughout the body, it utilizes unnecessary fat storage to keep the body functioning normally while maintaining a low calorie diet. As long as HCG is flowing through the body, lean muscle mass can be maintained, which allows weight loss to occur in the abdomen and hips where body fat is typically harder to get rid of.

The HCG Diet is the latest and most sophisticated weight loss program available on the market today and Dr. Jen Jose is proud to introduce this amazing weight loss program to her patients.

No More Screaming Please, Get A Hold Of Yourselves, and Don’t Stoop, EVER..

I had a long talk with my good friend Pam today and each and every time I get off the phone I realize that some poignant stuff was discussed. She is 2 chapters away from finishing her book and it sounds fascinating! I also was very hard in the beginning of the conversation because she said she called a couple times and was worried about me. I took her being worried about me as an insult- HA HA HA.. I like to think that I am the queen of my throne and no one needs to worry- and if they do, and mention they are, I feel like perhaps they think me weak! And my circumstances as of late have shown me that I am anything BUT WEAK… so Pam, you know I love you girl, and I know I explained to you my sitch and you understood why I was all bravery and courage and pomp and circumstance once you mentioned concern. I love that you love me so much, that you kept calling until I called you back because you wanted to know that your girl was straight up aces, which I am. Which brings me to my thoughts after we hung up.

I have realized as of late, especially due to the people that I was forced to deal with, due to a property lease and others, that I chose to have in my life. I realized something huge, rather esoteric, but rather simple at the same time. When people press you against a wall, bully you, mistreat you, and threaten you, it doesn’t do any good to meet them halfway. In fact, it feels down right awful to lower yourself to another’s level of vibrating on a low frequency. It feels like you haven’t progressed from operating at a child like level of dumb- STUPID- lame and embarrassing. Within the last two weeks, I have encountered some unfortunate circumstances, one I created, the other two because I had no choice. All of them error-ed on the side of ludicrous.

I was actually screamed at by two supposed adults and felt like I was on an episode of COPS! It was awesome- NOT at all. I just stood there in awe at the total ridiculousness that was my sitch at that moment. I mean this was some high school consciousness, immature, lowly, disgusting, and juvenile behavior that thankfully I didn’t commence nor participate in. I witnessed hands shaking, out of control screaming and thought it all so surreal. I was thinking, how in the world did I get into this situation? When people want to keep security deposits, they resort to all sorts of lowly behavior- bullying, making up non-existent problems, new rules and act with hostility. It feels completely unnatural for me to behave in a threatening manner, as well as embarrassing. It also feels incredibly unnatural. Fear isn’t something I want to coddle and all beahvior that doesn’t stem from love IS FEAR.  It is amazing! I feel foolish arguing, fighting, or trying to win an argument. It never feels good to win when someone else has to lose. I don’t think anyone in their right mind would agree to bullying, name calling and anything of the sort because what it all boils down to is my opinion and your opinion. It is that simple, NO right, NO wrong.

For some reason, lately, I am feeling like I really have to adhere to different standards of accepted behavior because once I feel I am put in this awkward position of being mistreated, yelled at, or threatened, I have to wonder, WHY DO I KEEP THIS PERSON IN MY LIFE? That is where I am at currently. and I am not keeping anyone like that around. No more excuses. It would be impossible for me to retain my self respect to continue to accept less than optimal behavior from those around me in the name of being spiritual and understanding. There needs to be a moral code, and boundaries established. Without them, one’s character, and integrity are a blur.

I think I may do an expose feature story and  interview a real estate attorney, and Realtors and the Norwalk Housing Authority to notify  tenants such as me, as to what their rights are, and what is legal and what isn’t! I believe EVERYONE should use their last month’s security for rent, if you know you have properly cared for the property you are renting, of course- because thieving, desperate landlords are in abundance out there! My parents were always to super cool landlords. In fact, my mother, yesterday said, “I always wound up throwing away garbage from tenants after they left and never charged them.” My parents were unusually cool with tenants. She made me realize that I was dealing with some insanity here, not just over garbage, which is a free load in Norwalk, with a beach sticker, but everything else they are trying to come with to make a profit off me. I am still awaiting notification of the “amount of my security deposit they deem acceptable to be given back to me.” What a joke! The house was left scrubbed clean, and in great condition! I cannot wait to report to you all my court date and the amount in which they try to steal from me! In my life I have never had a security deposit not used for last month’s rent and always leaving off on a great note! At this stage in my life, with my wisdom, and responsibility with which I act, it is totally shocking that I have to undergo such scrutiny, badgering. and thievery. I don’t mean to be a downer today, but I guess the moral of the story here is never stoop, and stand up for yourself at all times.

My New Second Favorite Television Show- PLAIN JANE!

Louise Row, Host of Plain Jane, British Fashion Expert

Louise Row, Host of Plain Jane, British Fashion Expert

For the second night in a row, while sewing, I happened across the show Plain Jane! I love it! I don’t know if it is because I was obsessed with giving makeovers from about age 10.. YES, that is exactly why.. I was also the makeover queen in high school. There is something about bringing out the best in someone that feels so great to me. Seeing someone transform into a person with confidence, loving the way they look, and feeling great is the ultimate high! I never got off on making someone feel awful- I was always the opposite. I wanted people to feel great. If you ask anyone who truly knows me, they will say the same. This show is SOOOOOO GREAT because of that. Tonight, I watched this adorable Asian girl, Jona reveal her secret crush on her best friend. The last two shows featured girls who were secretly in love with their best friend. I wonder if every show will reveal the same. Jona was adorable as a plain jane and became cuter as her new made over, haircut, made up, dress-wearing self. I am not going to be able to get enough of this show! I don’t think I could handle one of the participants confronting a crush and the object of their desire rejected them. How horrible would that be? I will have to keep watching to see if it ever happens. I hope it never happens it will break my heart!  If you want some “feel good” television, tune into Plain Jane! I wish I was the host!!! http://www.cwtv.com/shows/plain-jane

LiveHappy puts the exercises that University of California Riverside professor Sonja Lyubomirsky suggests in her book, The How of Happiness, into app form. Her theory is that by engaging in certain activities on a daily basis, anyone can change his or her mindset. The app also includes a personality analysis and science of happiness content.

MyThoughts+- http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/mythoughts/id296461352?mt=8

The power of positive thinking has become a mantra for many self-help books. Though psychologists are still debating its merits in relation to overall well being, most other people find it hard to argue against looking on the bright side.

This app keeps positive thoughts flowing in accordance with which category you select. The font, transitions, and background are all customizable, and users can add their own positive affirmations to the collection of 10,000 thoughts, but it’s hard to top phrases like, “Unlimited abundance and prosperity radiate through me, creating infinite opportunities in all areas of my life.” The free version contains 100 different affirmations.

istress- http://www.psiappsinc.com/iphone-applications-istress.html

This app provides several stress management activities including reading an inspirational poem, pondering encouraging quotes, laughing at “stress jokes,” and rating your feelings. There’s also a “reframe thoughts” function that aims to help you to identify and change negative thoughts with a relaxation exercise.

I personally prefer the iShatter approach to stress relief, where $0.99 allows you to simulate the destruction of your screen, various glass objects, or a photo of your choice.

Price: $0.99
