People Who Should be Famous Part Deux

Nicole Asher, Tireless Animal Advocate, Interior Designer
Nicole Asher, Tireless Animal Advocate, Interior Designer

Nicole volunteers endless hours to rescue lost animals that aren’t hers. She gets the news through the various networks she is involved in and goes out and tirelessly searches for lost animals. She found a Burnese Mountain dog after she was let go in this area by her owners after 4 months! She also is currently working on finding Andy the adorable 11 year old Corgi who spooked because of New Year’s Eve fireworks, and has been on the hunt ever since. Recently, as in YESTERDAY, she was instrumental in finding a dog missing since 2010! Her interior design (Asher Interiors) expertise is incredible! She works in mostly simple, elegant neutrals with unexpected pops of raw natural elements. Her design work is fresh, innovative and inspires a healthy lifestyle. Oh, and she is incredibly well versed in healthy, alternative treatment of dog ailments and has two very special yellow labs. I keep trying to convince her to blog about her rescue efforts and to give advice on dogs and natural health! I will convince her yet! She has been incredible in helping me treat my 14.5 year old pug’s cancer.

things i thought about on my way to work today…

Funny, "Natural Foods", what other kind is there? Fake, genetically created, which causes illness...

Funny, "Natural Foods", what other kind is there? Fake, genetically created, which causes illness...

How I love to spend time in a natural foods/ supplements stores. To me, it’s like entertainment, a nightclub for dorks who love to be healthy. I could literally spend over $3,000 easy on supplements, and whole super food supplements! I get so enthralled with the fact that I can assist my health naturally, and the products are much sexier to me than Dior lipstick ads. My latest healthy supplement: Colostrum (my friend Nicole told me about it). Here are some benefits of taking it below:

Anti-Inflammatory, Allergy Relief, Alzheimer’s Disease and Cognitive Disorders, Antioxidants and Anti-aging, Arthritis, Asthma, Athletic Performance, Autoimmune Diseases, Cancer, Detoxification, Diabetes, Heart Health, Pain Management, Skin Health and Wound Healing – among so much more. I also give it to my 14.5 year old pug.

My morning ritual shake: frozen strawberries, mango, banana, blue berries, colostrum, protein whey powder, flax oil, benefiber powder, non fat plain greek yogurt, cranberry blue berry juice! Try it! so good for you, and energy producing!

Oh how I love to invest in my skin! I recently began using the Nu Brilliance at Home Microdermabrasion system! It kicks ass! Only twice so far and I see a major change the quality, appearance and feel of my skin! No lie.

I learned that my classic dream car is a 1965 Ford Falcon Futura convertible: I must get one in this life time. It is small, cute, and makes me happy to look at it. I would love to tool around town in one. It directly reflects my style.

SANY0010

Isn’t this the cutest car ever? A car built for a pug and her owner!

I was thinking about how superstitions play a huge role in football play offs! I haven’t even been an active viewer of the NFL, but I did watch the play off games and I was out of my mind with stress as I wished for the Giants to win! I talked to several people who revealed their rituals, and their pain. The rituals include same outfits worn each game, sitting in same spot, pain including pacing, screaming, praying, hiding under the covers intermittently, and losing about 5 years off their lives from anxiety and stress during close games! I found myself on my stomach at times with my eyes closed because I couldn’t bare to watch some plays that were so close!

elimanning

I will be watching the superbowl this Sunday, and I am not looking forward to the stress, but I can’t not watch it because I want the Giants to win so badly and my friend believes Roxie needs to watch because she is good luck!

I also thought about how much I love my company: www.olivergreenonline.com and how much joy it brings me! I love it after 5 years just as much as I did the day I began! I can’t wait to grow my wholesale business to include more golf shops and equestrian shops!

I love that the sun is shining again, and that this winter is mild because my dog really needed it to be. She is very old and may survive the winter due to it being the way it is! I am so grateful for not having to shovel every day and having it be below zero! I could live in CT forever if this was the way winter stayed!

Real? Housewives of Wherever- on Bravo

Ok, I don’t like to be negative but yesterday at the gym they had on several televisions and one always has on this show and I am not sure from where these women hail, California I would presume, but since when does the majority of America really want to watch such ordinary, everyday women in their old lady attire, done up with WAY TOO LONG HAIR (extensions), making them look tired, stale and out dated, with way too much makeup, way too high heels, and less than average intellect? They give us women in their 40s a really bad rap! Believe me, there are some very cool chicks out there. ahh hem.. me… and this is all highly offensive!

I don’t know about you, but after I graduated high school, the cheerleader mentality became far less pervasive, although, I would have to say that the cheerleaders in my highschool were pretty cool, however, when I see these women, I harken back to my highschool head and find that these women never really grew up and out of this sort of average, predictable, and OUTDATED image!

I know I am viewing it with Sandra Oles eyes, and they may not necessarily be reflective of main stream society, but this shit just bores me beyond belief, and I am unsure as to why this image is perpetuated via the media. These women in their late 40s just look so tired, played, and corny in their too short silk dresses, too high heels and too long hair, and too much makeup! They all look alike, sort of like those bodies in lingerie in catalogs, YAWN.. all looking identically proportioned, and these, all these tiny hineys in this pic– all looking alike- OMG! Really? Yah, these girls are skinny and all have identical asses! Hooray- YAWN…

This is all carbon copy, sheep mentality and I am deeply disappointed in people that they applaud it, watch it and have these  housewives/women make even more money than they have- NOT SO MUCH due to themselves, but their wealthy husbands! Oh, wait, this show will enable them to make money just being average and trying to push products on all of us so we can be just like them! Hip Hip Hooray!!

hiSo what is the message here? That we AMERICANS want to watch women who marry rich guys, who all want to look alike, and compete with another jealously for looks, hair, clothing and homes? REALLY? Well aren’t we just a bunch of dumb mother fuckers to allow this, and to fund this shit!

A country of followers, sheep and simpletons! YAY! Fan-fucking tastic. If you ask me, and I know you aren’t, we need to have shows where we showcase women who are entrepreneurs, who are confident in their individuality, and working to make something of themselves with integrity, strength, challenges, and FUCKING STYLE! Style meaning they have the ability to assert themselves creatively, uniquely, and confidently! I am in such a state of dismay that these housewives show even exist, and more-so that these women are a total embarrassment because they NEVER FUCKING GREW UP! They want to stay the highschool cheerleader they were. And we still make them popular as a society now on Television, as if being popular in highschool wasn’t enough!!!

Isn’t it weird how life is a big highschool? Where the media still thinks we revere these types of people and want to keep watching them in our adulthood!>???!!!? Does anyone else find this deeply disturbing? I don’t know about you, but I always liked the different people, the ones who had enough balls to be themselves and to not try to fit into some mold of media magazine appearance. Yah, of course I wore stylish clothes and I loved them, but I was also a unique individual with a keen sense of humor, and the ability to accept lots of different people in my circle! That is what makes life so interesting!

Bravo takes a pack of identical women and packages them into a show that people want to watch, and sorry dudes, I don’t get it! I want to watch women who dress uniquely and cool, and who are working at making their passions their life businesses! Not women who live off their husbands and attend charity events, get drunk and fight about who or who may not need botox! Jesus Christ people.

Look at us, don't we look like we are trying to be "hot" like highschool girls?"

Look at us, don't we look like we are trying to be "hot" like highschool girls?"

I invite any production company to contact me through this site so that I can pitch some far better ideas for inspiring television!

These women never grew up, they need to burn all these ridiculous frocks and put on some jeans and do some real work instead of just getting work done on their faces and bodies!

Look, I am all for preserving your beauty and looks but if that is all you think your value is, you’ve got serious fucking problems, and clearly these women are addled with psychological problems. There is more to life than being a sheep and carbon copies of other people! Yes, I am yelling inside of my own head as I type this! GAWD! AND YES, this post is nauseatingly repetitive.

Mindbody Connection to Illness/Pain….

Widely Available May 1, 2012

Widely Available May 1, 2012

Holy shit! This am on the treadmill my mind was blown about 40 times while listening to totally inspiring music and reading John Sarno’s book, Healing  Back Pain. I pity those who do not open their minds regularly by reading, learning and thinking! That is the absolute most exciting part of life! Possibilities, science, health, healing, fitness and being your best possible self for optimal satisfaction and happiness while inhabiting this earthly plane is all anyone should ever strive for. The title Heal Your Back Pain is so benign and boring compared to the contents inside this book.

This book is enabling me to ascertain a huge realm of possibility as I correct small changes in Dr. Grayson’s book, and work with a spectacular public relations team to get a clear enough message out to seduce the skeptics regarding the origination of pain, disease, and discontent. Each author and professional make similar points that are astoundingly mesmerizing outlining how the mind and emotions play a major role in the manifestation of illness, pain, and chronic disorders. There are certain (many) diseases which have been linked to this unconscious emotional way of coping with life- and this unconscious coping method we have put in place as a result of our developmental environment, which is totally out of our control, and directly contributes to what problems manifest in our bodies.

If the disorder or illness or disease is the result of structural complications, then that is obviously the problem behind your discomfort and symptoms, however, most chronic issues are not structurally related, and are the result of repressed emotions finding their way out through pain manifestation in your body!

As a fellow thinker, I wonder why the unconscious mind delivers this punch to our bodies. What is the worst thing that can happen if we are able to express these emotions freely? These emotions are comprised of anxiety, fear, and anger typically. Is it that human beings aren’t comfortable confronting others in terms of their feelings? The spiritual realm would have us realize that we are in control of how we react to certain situations. If we choose to be angry, then that is a conscious choice made by us, and it shall fester in the mind eventually coming out in the body in some unfortunate way. So spirituality, health and the mind are all interconnected.

back pain Our doctors are so sorely attached to treating our symptoms instead of the cause! I know integrative medicine will emerge as something quite important in the years to come, but if your doctor isn’t attending to the mind as well as the body, he isn’t helping you by giving you pain medication.

You need to examine your thoughts, your mind, and your emotions when you start to feel something other than GOOD. While most mind body books make excellent points, and John Sarno, MD is an unbelievable mind, they don’t get to the origin of the negative patterns of thought. One may recognize that they are choosing to be negative, or repeating behavior that isn’t productive, but they are not attending to the origination of the behavior or pattern.

This is where Dr. Grayson’s methods come in to play. He is the psychological component to your chronic pains, debilitating illness and unhappiness. We all know when we consciously do things that aren’t necessarily for the betterment of ourselves, but we don’t know why we keep doing it. We recognize it, we can label it, and we are aware of it, but we still continue to do it. Dr. Grayson has figured out how we came to operate this way, and how to stop it altogether. This takes effort, time and patience. Anything good takes time, nothing great comes easy. If you are a seeker of knowledge about yourself and want to attain a greater sense of power over your life, symptoms and radically reduce your chances of falling victim to an illness, unhappiness, depression, etc, you need to soul search. In Use Your Body to Heal Your Mind, Dr. Grayson provides very clear explanations about how to derive proper conclusions as why you keep making the same mistakes or falling off the wellness wagon.

He gives you insight about how you came to cope and operate the way you do, and how it could or could not set you up for failure in the health and wellness department. More importantly, he gives you tools that you can use daily to undo all the unconscious knee jerk reactions to life that keep you stuck in a circle of unproductivity, illness and unhappiness.

Where Sarno, stops, Grayson comes in. Sarno stops at recognition that the problem of your physical symptoms are emtionally related, and many people have healed themselves of physical symptoms with that knowledge alone, however, the symptoms re-emerge in different parts of your body, and then you can recognize that they are emotionally related, and then eradicate them again. But in order to completely heal your mindbody, you will need to remove these incidents that lodge themselves into your limbic system that created unproductive behavioral problems to begin with.

The tools you will learn should be implemented into your life ongoingly, and be used on a regular basis because we endure traumas through out our lives which affect the way we assert ourselves, trust in and operate in this world in the future. If we endure a painful breakup, and not clear it’s effects physically and emotionally, it will continue to be an energetically charged incident in our minds each time we should think about it, and we won’t be able to talk about it in a neutral manner- thus it will manifest in our lives as fear, and we will be less apt to trust again for too long a time, and rob ourselves of the enjoyment of close relationships.

On the other hand, if we use Dr. Grayson’s methods to take the energetic charge out of this traumatic experience, we can talk about it with less emotion and attachment and move on productively to have optimal health and experiences going forward IMMEDIATELY. We set ourselves up for less negative energetic emotions, and therefore less strain on our physical health, because we release the anger, fear and sadness, and therefore set ourselves up for peace of mind and less of a chance for heart related problems.

Ok, I am going to quote Dr. Sarno, from Healing Your Back Pain, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE IN A BOOK WITH THAT TITLE.. and this spoke to me directly as I know so many people operating this way, and it is sad that they don’t try to become better.

“To make things easy, we can refer to this multifaceted emotional mechanism as the personality. We all have one and we are all aware of some of its characteristics’ for example, we know if we’re a compulsive or perfectionistic. But there are important components of our personalities that we are unaware of, that are in the unconscious, that may have a profound effect on our lives. It seems clear that all human beings possess the same basic parts of the personality structure, though there may be considerable variation in the composition of these parts and the relative importance of each part in the life of the individual. For example, everyone has a conscience; in one person it may be strong as to virtually dominate his life; in the next so weak that his social behavior borders on the criminal.

A very important part of the unconscious personality is that which is childish, primitive and therefore, narcissistic. It is self-involved, to the exclusion of concern for the needs, desires and comforts of others. It is me oriented. The size (strength, influence) of this part varies from person to person. In some people it is large and they are, therefore, more liable to react and behave in self-indulgent or childish ways, though the latter may be hard to detect since people’s demeanor is always papered over by adult behavior. Many feelings and behaviors are no doubt left over from childhood. Children feel weak and vulnerable; they are dependent and they feel that dependency strongly; they don’t think much of themselves; they have a constant need for approval; they are very prone to anxiety and quick to anger. They have no patience. To a degree we all continue to generate some of those feelings unconsciously right into adulthood. What varies from person to person is how much.”

John Sarno, MD, Healing Your Back Pain, Page 134.

In closing, if you are interested in bringing your awareness to new heights about the origins of behavior and would love to change them for the better, YOU CANNOT AFFORD TO NOT READ Dr. Henry Grayson’s New Book- Use Your Body to Heal Your Mind: Revolutionary Tools to Release All Barriers to Health, Healing and Happiness- It will be widely released May 1, 2012, but may be available on www.henrygrayson.com by end of March.

Crack For Pizza Lovers- Pepe’s, Fairfield

pepeLast night my friend and I went to Pepe’s for a feast. We ordered a salad, to make ourselves feel good, then arrived the half pepperoni and half plain, and it was all over. The tip of the piece is the best, that first bite of your piece is rather heavenly. The pies are huge, and cut in an uncoventional manner, squares and some traditional, so there is not equal splitting.
The two of managed to polish off the whole thing. As we sat in our jeans staring at the last two pieces, we both were sick to our stomachs from not being able to control ourselves and kept eating. He stared at them and said, “I am about to fuck up that last piece, are you?” I nodded and we went for it, gobbling it up like two pigs, barely able to breathe.
As we waddled out of the restaurant, I came up with a business idea. I said, “We should start a valet wheelchair biz where we give people rides back to their cars when they leave here.” He said, “Forget that, get me a RIDE HOME,” and we both laughed. I said there should be a sign in the front that reads, “Sweatpants strongly recommended.” If we had sweats on the last piece would have went down much easier!
If you are in the market for the best pizza in the whole world, do yourself a favor and get over to Pepe’s, but you might want to fast for a few days before you go, because YOU WILL OVER EAT! I guarantee it!
